Blast from the Past

My brother-in-law is a well-known artist, and today I'm sharing one of his paintings that I own.

The title is "The Last Soldiers", and they represent a bygone era when silos dotted our landscape, and the small farmers were the backbone of our communities.

Since I grew up on a farm, these symbolize my memories of summer days with my cousins, happy days when we worked hard and played hard, the smell of fresh cut hay and the sound of cattle lowing in the fields...

Many of you still have these realities, but for me they are a blast from the past. I miss them.
