It was 24 hours of friends reunited. Supper with my brother J, before the party in a brasserie off Marylebone High Street.
The party was at the headquarters of the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) so as you’d expect we were entertained in an impressive high ceilinged room, with wide sweeping staircases and echoing corridors. Acoustics were awful though so conversations were held at whispered shouting level in each other’s ears - or by lip reading. It was a lovely evening all in all and sweet to see M and G together again, top left.
After a delicious long lie this morning we went to meet N and co., along with D and J who we hadn’t seen for a year. We had breakfast together and afterwards, and before our train, we joined the migratory throng of those out enjoying the recently developed canal-side area behind Kings Cross. A favourite place for EP to play on the see-saw. It was sunny and warm.
Now we are on the train heading back to Edinburgh.
