I tried making Stollen today, but silly me forgot to add the egg until after I had kneaded it for ten minutes and put it in the airing cupboard to rise. I hastily tried to mix the egg in but it hasn't turned out right, it didn't rise in the end and is very dense and tough!
I will taste it once it has cooled properly but I think it will need the bin!
Also, not sure how old my yeast is....it didn't dissolve v well in the warm milk to begin with so that could be the problem aswell!
