The Grave Digger's Dog

Today we went to the funeral of a very dear friend, Andrew, whose love and enthusiasm for so many things was so strong and infectious.  Our house in Prades came about because he bought a house there in 1990 and we used to visit once a year.

It was a lovely service in a completely packed church, and after the burial we all went to the Village Hall.  On the way back after, we stopped for me to take a blip of the church, but when we got there the grave digger was filling in Andrew's grave.  Sitting quietly nearby was his dog, patiently waiting for his master to finish.

We wondered how many times he had sat quietly by as his master performed that task for so many dearly loved people.
