Sea to Sky

N took a day off work today so that we could all go on Sea to Sky Gondola. To start with though we had breakfast at the Save on Meats diner, in one of the less salubrious districts of Vancouver. The diner though was set up by an ex homeless guy, and since opening they proudly state they’ve helped to feed 2,064,691 homeless people. The interior is great, very old style diner with booths and the breakfast was great.
We then headed to Squamish for our Gondola ride. It was the perfect day bright blue sky, no wind, and as it’s a Friday no queue. The views going up were amazing but nothing compared with what we’d see at the top and there was so much so snow. We hadn’t thought we’d need snow shoes and we managed most of the trails without them. This was definitely one of the most beautiful walks I’ve ever been and the views were incredible. We were trying to describe the sound of walking on the compacted snow and R said it was the same as when you put cotton wool between your teeth.
While we were at the top we saw a Steller Jay, a first for me, as was a black squirrel which we’d seen earlier.
Later, as this was our last night in Vancouver we went to Davy for some beers and a game of pool followed by dinner at Moxies.
