Go With the Flow

A gray murky day with a fresh dusting of snow. We hiked along the river at Whitesburg Preserve to take advantage of the cold suppressing plants and insects that will deter us come Spring.

Reading The Elephant Whisperer by Lawrence Anthony, renowned conservationist who had a tremendous impact through many endeavors.  This book tells how he rescued a wild herd of African elephants to protect them on his preserve in Zululand. A terrific read.  When he died in 2012, the  elephants travelled 12 hours  to gather at his home to mourn. No one can explain it.

Our two-day water boil was cancelled early.
