Having had a few nice clear nights recently (with the resulting frosts) I knew the phase of the moon tonight. There are 2 nights a (lunar) month when you can't see the moon - those around the New Moon. Tonight was New Moon. Any other phase of the moon and a clear night would have given me a nice moon shot for the light in the darkness. It was not to be.

So, instead, we have the cover of an album by The Darkness, shot twice - once straight and once with a torch underneath to provide a highlighted area at the front. Then a quick Photoshop job to light up the light on the front of the train and the make the centre of it into another light shining out. Done with 2 layers and a mask to select the lit areas.
