Derelict cottage

My daughter and son-in-law visited today. We had lunch at a garden centre. There's a picnic area nearby and a footpath along the nearby river. I asked if we could stop there so that I could take a photo of this cottage. I've taken a photo of it some time previously when I had a car. (My car broke down beyond repair earlier this year.)

Derelict buildings are another subject I love. They seem to have their own stories to tell. I wonder about the people who lived there... Were they happy? How much did they love the view? What caused them to vacate the property? Etc. Perhaps, in this case, the encroaching water forced the residents to leave.
