After the Rain

I took a quick detour to Nymans on the way home from Mum's today, hoping to catch "The Lost Worlds" exhibition of the artwork of Jackie Morris and poetry of Robert Macfarlane.  The paintings were beautifully done, and although poetry is not really "my thing", it complemented the works well.

My walk around the grounds was punctuated by shafts of light and warmth as the sun drifted between the clouds, lighting up the spring flowers glistening in the grass.  However, the cloud cover eventually got darker and a heavy shower meant a quick retreat to the cafe for coffee and cake was in order.

Half hour or so later, the sun peeped out again, and I managed to capture this miniature Iris in the grass before leaving to head for home.
