Unexpected Happenings

Today’s the day that we fly to Costa Rica. At least that’s what we expected. We got up at 2:30 am, had breakfast and headed by taxi to Bellingham Airport for our first flight. Getting through check in was a breeze. We met folks and chatted away as we waited for our flight. Then came the announcement. A two hour delay. Our connections were beyond repair. This happens way too often nowadays at Bham with Horizon Air. We had to reschedule for tomorrow. This time we are taking the shuttle to Seattle. We canceled our hotel room and let our guide know what was happening. Thank heavens we planned to get to Costa Rica a day early. No more Bellingham flights for us. Twice bitten, twice shy. Same thing happened a year ago November on my way to NYC. Enough! And we had to wait an hour in line to get our bags back. Sheesh.

Good news is that we are still smiling and we met new friends.
