Kingsbury Water Park

We met our friends John and Jennie this lunchtime at the Green Man in Middleton near Tamworth. We had a very good meal and a nice chat.  After lunch, we went to Kingsbury Water Park nearby. Being a damp, showery day it was fairly quiet but we had a good walk around one of the large lakes, the whole area being created from a disused quarry.  There are a selection of wildlife on the lakes; coots, grebe, cormorant, swans, oyster catches among others. Also goldfinches in the woods. I took lots of photos, naturally, and I've added a picture of the oyster catcher to the extras though for my main picture I actually like this photo of Ann and Jennie walking through the woods.

There is also a cafe there by the visitor centre where we ended up with hot chocolate and coffee.

Thanks to Cailleach for hosting today’s Wild Wednesday.
