Madeira, day 2

A tour of the west of the island today, which necessitated an early start, but was well worth it. 

So much to see and take in. Wonderful flowers and scenery - lots of terraced mountain sides growing all sorts of fruit and vegetables, stunning sea cliffs and precipitous views over the edge!

We started and finished at sea level in the sun but up in the mountains there was thick mist and the temperature was down to 6°C. Having an interesting, knowledgeable local guide and only six of us on the tour was a real bonus.  A really excellent day.
