Trampers Tales

Time to let go.

Moving back to UK at the end of the month, so we are busy packing boxes to take back. Selling stuff on various sites and visits to the charity shops are also taking up our time. Letting go of things has always been hard for me as I'm a bit of a hoarder much to the annoyance of my wife. It's not just the possible usefulness of things but also the sentimental value when item's have been with you for a good part of your life. These reels of standard 8 cine film dating from 1965 to 1980 come under the latter heading, as they haven't been through a projector for many years and are unlikely to in the future as we don't own one. They have all been digitized on to Dvd's and backed up on computers, so the time has come to unwind the film and recycle the plastic and metal reels, but as I do so, thoughts go back to waiting for that yellow package coming back from the Kodak processing lab at Hemel Hempstead and the excitement of feeding it through the projector and seeing the results of my camera work.
Sad though it was it had to be done as space is at more of a premium at our UK place, but lookig forward to filming, sorry videoing our grandchildren without needing any physical storage space.
