Is this magnificent cycle route in the Netherlands? Or could it be Denmark?

No, it's Birmingham!

First look today with the city council at the new A34 cycle route up to Perry Bar and it is very good indeed. Top stuff Birmingham! It was very wet though and I just about dried out during an afternoon in the office but then got soaked on the way home from Loughborough Station. At least I've discovered the electric bike is properly waterproof and it didn't electrocute me with all that water sloshing about!

In the extra is a snapshot of the train ride from Derby down to Brum. No seats were to be had, so it was 40 mins of standing in the doorway. Unfortunately not an unusual occurrence.
