Martin Parr - a fantastic exhibition

You might recognise the ‘Bird Watchers’. In 2016 the BBC commissioned Martin Parr to create a series of short stills between programmes for BBC1. He travelled all around the British Isles photographing volunteer organisations and sport and hobby clubs showing people united by their shared interests and passions.
For each subject a 30 second film and a still photograph were made. The films were all produced in the same format: participants start by being engaged in their activity seemingly unaware of the camera, pause briefly for the shot and then return to their activity.
This was only a small part of a very large exhibition of his photographs in the National Portrait Gallery.
