A hike up around and down the Derwent valley..

... from langstrath. First up, a promising start with a strenuous slog and scramble to work our way up Eagle Crag and onto Sergeant Crag for some lunch. Which ended abruptly when the snow started to fall. Thence an increasingly snowy and slippery slog to High Raise and Ullscarf, before a late and slow and slippery descent in soaked boots via the Cumbria way in the dark and back to the pub...... for a ....... power cut. Thank God for handpumped beer and blister plasters.
