Remembering

Saw this old travelling case and wondered about the story behind it.
I discovered that the SS Argentina was a US turbo electric ocean liner. She was completed in 1929 as SS Pennsylvania, and refitted and renamed as SS Argentina in 1938. She carried 500 people and failed from the USA to S America.
From 1942 to 1946 she was the used by the US navy as part of the navy fleet.
She was laid up in 1958 and finally scrapped in 1964.
Of the trunk's owner, only my speculation!
A little window into the deep past. Of such things is history made.
