Second Works Do...same location

We had the Husband's Work Do tonight, a nice leisurely family get together at one of the beaches near town. All, bar 2, of his team turned up, including their families. It was very chilled out, and warm enough for a swim.

This photo is of the Eldest starting to cry as the Husband had just twatted her with the Leeds Rhinos ball which is on the ground next to the Youngest. I was setting up to get some lovely playing shots, but of course the Eldest let her mouth do the catching. I'm definitely up for Mother of the Year with shooting instead of rushing over to deal out the tea and sympathy.

Last day of school today. The Youngest is getting the Eldest's teacher...much to the Eldest's disgust, as the classes are composite Yr 3/4, and as the Eldest is going into Yr 4, she thought she'd stay put, as that is how it has happened previous years. The Eldest is going into a new class, but will have her best friend with her, which is fabulous. She's also going to be in with our dear family friend's youngest son, who missed the last day of school due to trying to get out of the car when his dad had paused to do a turn, but Mr R thought dad had stopped to let them out. He ended up being pulled almost under the car and breaking his ankle. I must thank him for being the real life example that we can now give the girls when they've done similar.

The Youngest is thrilled as she is going into a class with some of her closest friends. Her friend L, who is a wee trick, will be with her, and they'll be off doing dark deeds, I imagine. They make me laugh so much when they are together.

Bring on summer!
