RIP Keith Flint

As a teenager in the 90s it was a revelation when The Prodigy burst onto the British music scene. Although dance music had never been my thing, Music for the Jilted Generation and Fat of the Land were seminal and game changers. I saw The Prodigy live on many occasions (although I missed the most recent gig in Glasgow) they were always incredible, and Keith’s stage presence and boundless energy was awe inspiring. It’s awful to know that he took his own life, another talented person gone. Too many people (particularly men) are lost to suicide, and more must be done to support and fund mental healthcare. In 2018, across the UK 4,661 men took their own lives. An absolutely horrifying statistic. By all accounts he was a genuinely lovely person who enjoyed birdwatching, and walks with his dogs. Sleep easy Keith., I hope you are at peace now.
