Bobs and Baubles

I took the kids to a local barbers to get their hair cut this morning. After the disaster that was Miss A's haircut some months back I'm always nervous going somewhere new but I shouldn't have worried, it was the best haircut she'd ever had - a cute little bob...and the hairdresser gave her sweets afterwards so she was delighted! Little D had a wee trim too and sat beautifully while the hairdresser set about him with the clippers.

From there it was off to soft play with Elaine, Rudy and Erica and a chance meeting with Esther and Phoenix before heading home.

More hilarity ensued this evening in the form of cushion wars. I think Rob and I were having more fun than the kids as we walloped each other in the face (with cushion). The kids took sides, then defected, then swapped back - no loyalty whatsoever! In all the excitement Little D then decided to ransack the christmas tree, throwing baubles across the room at high speed. They skimmed, they bounced, they broke and the family heirloom 70's bauble is now no more.

Miss A continues to amuse us with her wily ways and interesting turn of phrase. She managed to persuade Rob to give her a sweet before bedtime by telling him he had to be nice to her. When he halved the sweet she said 'Don't be mean, daddy', so he gave her the whole sweet. When she came upstairs and told me she'd had a sweet, I asked her where she got it, her reply 'From the treat tub, of course.' Oh yes, of course!
