At the reservoir

The blue sky and sunshine were too tempting and we headed over to the reservoir. We were glad we had put on plenty of warm clothing as the bitter wind almost knocked us off our feet. The birds were all very busy at the feeders and hubby gained Brownie points for spotting the woodpecker on the other side - see extra. It was very flighty and kept taking off. Shame as it was sheltered from the wind there. Further along the path the heron flew across and perched on one of the poles. I could barely stop the camera shaking because of the wind. We picked up more groceries on the way back and enjoyed our lunch and some hot tea.
