Mottisfont House near Romsey Hampshire.

We took a trip down to Mottisfont House and gardens. Lovely sunny day but the wind was cold and luckily not very strong.

This an 18th century house with a medieval priory at its heart. You will see the first extra showing part of the priory
Maud Russell made it her home in the 1930's bringing artist's here to relax and create works inspired by Mottisfont's past.

Unfortunately we did not manage to get into the house as time went pretty quickly as we walked around the estate.
The second extra is of the Lime tree avenue around the back of the house.
The third extra is of a waterfall which is fed by a deep natural spring nearby.
There are other attractions as well and the walled garden is stunning and houses up to 1500 roses which are carefully pruned every year. They have some very old varieties of roses to see. They were in full swing with the pruning.
If you are in the area, call in. Well worth a visit. It is also National Trust owned.

Lovely day out and luckily the weather was on our side.

Take care everyone.
