Monday WI meeting

It’s WI week again. Today we had a very entertaining talk from a lady about pearls. Most people know that oysters grow pearls, but mussels do too, and a number of other bivalves too, but they are of poorer quality. She had some shells to. The blip shows one from New Zealand. On the shell it’s called mother of pearl, but it’s the same stuff as the outside of the pearl. A very interesting talk, and I treated myself to some new earrings.
