Atop Mt Richardson

Fine and sunny this morning, so we walked up Mt Richardson. It's a steep climb on a well marked track, to a height of 1048 metres. The reward is a view of the Lees Valley through which the Ashley River flows. The Puketeraki Range has some remnant winter snow on the tops. Dracophyllum bushes (turpentine wood) and the tussocks gave the scene a lovely depth of colour.
