Artist At Work

Mrs CBL and I had a rare trip up to Fraserburgh (25 miles north of Cruden Bay) today. Rare in the sense of being a place we seldom visit even though there is much to interest a visitor/photographer but to be fair, rare too, in the sense of being good fun.

We had a stroll along the beach before having a wee wander round the harbour. Whilst walking around there we chanced upon a stunning work of art (see extras). It is one that has been created by ship painters who daub the wall daily with the last drops of paint from their tins so it is an eternal work in progress. Jackson Pollock would be an admirer of their ‘action painting’! Over the years the wall has thickened by several inches (see extras to get the full ‘picture’).

We drove on to the nearby village of Rosehearty for lunch which was very much enjoyed. We will return soon to explore/revisit other places of interest in the town and surrounding area.
