The Culprit

I can only assume this is the destroyer of bird feeders!  I thought that I'd only got heavy duty feeders but on heading out this afternoon, after the lashing rain and high winds of this morning, to fill them up I came across one that had literally been chewed away on one side to make it easier to access the sunflower hearts.

I thought all of them had metal components, but obviously I'd mistaken metallic painted plastic on the one and this chap had gnawed away a hole about 2cm by 2 cm in the one side.  I had strong words, but I think he was cocking a deaf 'un!
