Looking for a Mate

If you want to know where the action is at Huntley Meadows Park in Virginia, you look for the photographers.  There was a line of tripods this morning on the boardwalk, all aimed toward this one male Wood Duck (see extra).  He did cooperate, I must say, and hopped between the water and the top of the nest box several times.  He had clearly made his nest location selection, and was onto step two.  I would have recommended he choose a box away from the boardwalk.  The future pair and their family will be followed by photographers for weeks to come.
