Trois-Fontaines Abbey

This morning we visited this Abbey (just a few kilometers north of St. Dizier-the French version of the Wiki page has more photos).  These ruins are all that remain of of the abbey church, constructed from 1160 to 1190 (don't miss the extra, which includes a peek at the inside).  We took a long walk around the extensive grounds, with several statues bordering a broad lawn.  We returned to Paris in the afternoon, taking a bus from St. Dizier to Chalons-en-Champagne and the train from there (due to work on the track in between).  We were glad to regain our warm apartment (Anne and Roger keep the heat low in their wonderful large house :)
