This ancient path is essential for reaching the far side of the farm. It is only wide enough for the quad bike and enables S to access part of the coast 2 miles from home. It means he can take feed blocks out there, as he was doing today, or carry a ewe back at lambing time.
We had a landslide there 2 years ago, huge boulders. You can see them beyond the quad bike. S had to move the boulders off the track, so he could get the quad bike past. This time the damage was caused by heavy rain. The ground is sodden, and the bank has finally given in to the excessive rain and collapsed down the steep slope beneath the track. Not good. Not quite sure yet how we can remedy this because it will only get worse.
Thanks to S for the photo.
