NEARING VENICE BY TRAIN

by the Ponte della Liberta.
In the morning we had some concern if we would get our connection in Muenchen in time, but happily enough all went splendid.
In the train we sat next to a man who lives in Innsburck and till we reached that town we had a very lively and interesting conversation.
After Innsbruck we climbed towards the Brenner Pass and my extra shows a photo of the Europa Bruecke of which I had seen the first building when I was 17 years or so.
After the Brenner Pass we climbed down of course and saw the towns of Bolzano, Trento and others. Then we passed Verona, Vicenza and Padua.
And when we reached Mestre and left the station we were exited to see at both side of the track the Laguna.
It was just past 6 pm, and we loved the light on the water.
Then we reached Venice station, and walked to our B&B in Dorsoduro.
Just a quarter or twenty minutes and how wonderful to see the dark streets, went over several bridges, and were glad to reach our Calle.
After some rest we went to the Campo San Marguerita for a pasta meal.
We ate our meal, at the table at the right from us sat a pair from Berlin, of our age we think and we had suddenly a lot to tell to them and they to us. So cheerful and spontaneous.

I have given silly hearts to davidc, flavia13, Catnipkitty, nangee, and cassnett.
