Angel

SHH became an angel for a time today. My journeying around the sculptures to the Black Country have introduced me to a local sculptor called Luke Perry, who is based in the heart of the Black Country and gets involved in a lot of community projects and produces art to reflect the character of the community.  I have been particularly struck by his memorial to all the soldiers of the British Indian Army, and one I found this week to the women chain makers of Cradley Heath.  Today we went to find "The Wings of Cradley" in a local churchyard at the centre of the chianmaking industry.  They are the first piece of public artwork ever in the Chainmaking capitol of Cradley.  The wings are made from beaten steel, hand hammered and welded into shape.  They are based on the sings of the Kestrel and Shrike. The wings have become a bit of a selfie magnet so we decided to make use of them today.

Mom's ward is still closed but we were allowed in briefly today to visit her.  I hope they sort it out soon so we can all move on to the next stage...
