Brigsteer Woods

A day of heavy showers but we braved them, intending to take Pepper on one of her favourite walks. As we parked at Helsington Church a rain cloud burst upon us and we chickened out, and went to Sizergh Castle tearoom for coffee and cake!
The sun reappeared though, so we had a second attempt. The woods were extremely wet and the Lythe Valley quite flooded. There were plenty of ducks to be seen but the Green Winged Teal Rob wanted to see was not around.
Pepper had a good run but we lost her ball in the reeds somewhere. Strangely enough, a lost tennis ball was waiting for her by the gate so she was able to continue her fun!
