Lace group this evening and a very enjoyable and entertaining talk on “Cons, Conmen and how to avoid them”

We have a bit of a dilemma with my lace group. I have come to the end of my term, as stipulated in the constitution, but there is no-one coming forward to take on the chair role. The constitution states that:

(i)
An Honorary President will be elected annually by the Society.
(ii)
The Society will be administered by a Committee.
(iii)
The Committee shall consist of the following officers: Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and 6 (six) Committee Members.
(iv)
The Officers and members shall be elected annually by the members of the Society at the AGM every April. Committee meetings will be held regularly as deemed necessary by the Committee. No final decisions may be made unless two Officers and three committee members are present.
(v)
The Committee may co-opt other members to form sub-committees. Sub-committee meetings will be held regularly as called by the Committee.
(vi)
No officer may serve for more than 3 (three) consecutive years in one post with the exception of the Treasurer. No member of the Committee shall serve for more than 6 (six) consecutive years with the exception of the Treasurers.
(vii)
The Secretary or a representative shall attend all meetings and keep minutes of all business transacted.
(viii)
When a nominated post fall vacant during the year the Committee may appoint a replacement.”

We don’t seem to have put in anything about folding/ending the Society or what action if you can’t recruit an Officer!!
