Tea Flora Tales

A trip to Rochester today and after a coffee in our favourite cafe next to the cathedral we visited an exhibition in the cathedral's crypt.

The textile artist, Cas Holmes, was showcasing her six year project of stitched contributions posted to her from all over the world. The small square pieces of cloth, suspended as mobiles, wetre handstitched and integrated wild flowers and plants using tea labels in collage form.

After a good Thai lunch we visited a gallery that specialises in Russian art as well as local artists paintings and sculptures.

We continued with the textile art of Cas Holmes at an exhibition of her work at Rochester Art Gallery entitled "Painting with Cloth". I love the way she combines painting and textiles, something I did at college many years ago. Although I hasten to add, my results were nowhere as good and were not worth keeping.
My extras show some of her work.

I enjoy visiting Rochester. There is so much to see and do - many historical buildings to look at and interesting shops and galleries to browse.
