Silly Seasons

Heavy snow was forecast here today but when I woke about 7am it was just misty....so I hopped back into bed and went back to sleep. The feathered alarm wakened me eventually about 9ish...by now it was snowing quite heavily and everywhere was white! So with less than a week to go before it’s officially spring we get our first snow of winter....very silly!!

Sadly it was wet snow and quickly turned to rain, I almost didn’t get out with the camera in time to catch it. We now have horizontal rain.

Another picture of Doon Hill today, this time shrouded in cloud and snow. As I was writing this at least 8 bullfinches descended on the crabapple tree (possibly 4 pairs) and had a veritable feast before retiring for the evening. It was difficult to get any decent pics through the windows but managed the extra from the backdoor without scaring them off....the fattest, most colourful male amongst them.
