Supreme Court, London

A freezing day, but a very memorable one. Sally and I left home very early and when we arrived in London we visited the Supreme Court. It was a really interesting visit and this glass wall is located in the library and bears some powerful words.

We were extremely fortunate to be shown around the Houses of Parliament by our MP's Researcher. Fascinating to see the House of Lords especially, which is very different from the House of Commons, As we were walking round the public were being escorted out of the building to make way for a rather special group of visitors. However, as we were not with a guided tour we continued and found that there was only the three of us left as we entered Westminster Hall. We headed off to the Cafeteria expecting to find it very busy, but we were the only visitors - very quiet. We had excellent service from the staff. Can really recommend their cake selection.

We finished the afternoon with Evensong in Westminster Abbey. I was not very impressed with the choir, but then perhaps I have been spoiled by the choir at Kings College, Cambridge.
