By the time I went for a short walk down the lane the snow was starting to melt uncovering the buds of the Blackthorn (Prunus Spinosa or sloe). Against the snow the unopened buds appear to be cream but the flowers are white.  (Extra) By afternoon the daffodils were standing tall again after being released from their snowy blanket.
