Poundland

Today's the day ............................. to disconnect

It seemed like a good idea to go to Poundland and get a few bits and pieces as stocking fillers. It's incredible the things that you can get in there too - just for the modest sum of £1. One of my purchases, however, seriously back-fired - in fact it very nearly drove us insane.

It was one of those key-rings that help you find your keys when you have lost them. If you whistle - it lets out a high-pitched alarm noise, twice - so that you have enough time to locate where your keys are. The only trouble was that it let out its noise at any - and every - sound that it detected. It went on and on. There was nowhere in the house that you could escape that screeching tone.

In the end - we had to put it out of its misery ............................
