Countdown to Christmas

We went into town this morning with the intention of buying presents, which we sort of achieved before succumbing to the call of the coffee house. We had made a little resolution to ourselves that we would start frequenting independent coffee houses for the coming year, this was adjusted down to twice a week, so as Nero was full, and Costa, we went to a small place down Union Street called Gusto Ricco. It was a really nice place and we sat in the window and felt good that we'd started our New Year's resolution. Unfortunately Ann's cappuccino was not good. Ann has very exacting standards as regards her coffee, personally I have it as it ought to be drunk, strong and black, and mine was fine. I'm now not sure how long this support for the independent will continue.

I took a couple of snaps on the way home along the river, including this one taken from the terrace of The Dirty Duck (The Black Swan). The character walking by the tree is the Jester who I featured on BlipFoto back in April; he had been feeding the birds.

This evening we're off to Jo's to give her the photos I extracted from the spreadsheet and help her set up a slide show to accompany her talk at Ben and Miyoshi's exchange of vows ceremony in early January.

Late News: That went well and we had a take-away curry to keep us going
