Black heart

We all bleed, we all have a heart, we all have feelings, we're all members of one and the same race, the human race. We should never forget that most people are good and care about and for others, and that there is but a very small minority of people who don't have good intentions, who have a black heart and mind.  They will never win as long as we show that we all care for each other, the world and the future of the next generations. It's what's in our hearts that counts, the content of our hearts.

I had actually taken my MonoMonday images for today this morning (an image of DJ's little statue of Budai, the fat bald monk also named the laughing Buddha, who represents contentment and abundance) when the first news about a shooting in a tram in Utrecht came through. Tonight what is known is that 3 people were shot dead and 5 were severely wounded, of whom 3 critically wounded. Probably by one man of Turkish descent, well known by the police for several crimes, he's been retained this evening, motive so far not really clear, it could be a terrorist motive, but it could also be because of relational problems. Not that it matters much, the idea that somebody just starts to shoot in a full tram, filled with people going to work or school is just so terrible. My thoughts are with the victims, their families and friends, the people who witnessed this, the people in Utrecht (including all the children locked up in schools while the chase for the shooter was on) and the emergency services.

A black heart for a black day.
