One daze at a time...

Old skool

The library in Inchicore.
On the way to Orla's funeral. A young person's funeral (41). A well-known, popular nurse's funeral.
The church was overflowing. So much so that they could close neither the side door nor the main door. A gale blew through the church for the 1.5 hour of the service. I felt bad for the nurses in their sleeveless uniforms. The temperature couldn't have been more than 9 or 10 degrees. But great to hear the homage by the two priests who actually knew her, both present and past chaplain at the Repair Factory.
I spent my whole day the previous Friday scrutinising pressure relief mattress and bariatric beds with her. On Monday morning I learned that she was dead. Of a cardiac arrest. In the A&E department of the Repair Factory. Much to the distress of her colleagues in A&E who knew her so well.
It's been a sad week in the Repair Factory.
