Lone Blossom

As my friend Jane and I were walking on the hike and bike trail this morning, we saw this single blossom lying on the ground all by itself.  At first, I thought it was an artificial flower that had been discarded,  However, on closer inspection, I found it was growing there without any similar blooms around,  I believe that it is some member of the Primrose family----and I know that I think it is beautiful!
