Macro Bug and Distant Duck

Today I bit the bullet and bought a new macro lens to replace the one I lost a couple of weeks ago. Maybe it will turn up now, but I doubt it.
The local camera shop had 15% off them so I thought I might as well get it without further ado but it was still an expensive exercise :-(

While waiting for Elizabeth to have her swimming lesson I went in seach of a little critter to photograph.
In the extensive gardens this was the only one I saw. It's not as spectacular as the mosquito head trisharooni blipped the other day but always interesting to see what they look like up close.

To demonstrate why this is one of my favourite lenses the extra was taken in the non-macro mode at 60mm.
