We walked along the canal to Walton Gardens. It was very busy with lots of young families. We walked round the little zoo and had something to eat at the recently opened Heritage cafe. The gardens are a wonderful local amenity and new life is being breathed into them.

The house is to be extended and new modern kitchens added so that it can be used as a function venue. The riding school is to be transformed into a indoor public space for events. Work has already started on restoring the large range of greenhouses.

Well done to the local council for improving this local public space which was formerly owned by the Greenall family, the famous brewers of Warrington.
