Remembrance.

The sky stained like blood,
A day of remembrance,
Sympathy for all.

I don't think I have ever felt prouder to be a New Zealander than I did today. One week after the mass murders in Christchurch the nation came together to join the grieving families in prayer and silence. It was broadcast nationally on TV and radio. As well as the main service people were getting together throughout the country. I am so proud of our prime minister. She has been so caring and compassionate and eloquent. The Muslim Imam who lead the prayers had been in the mosque where 40 others were slaughtered. It  is awful beyond belief. And yet we are all coming together in a caring manner. As the Imam said " hate will be undone and love will redeem us".
