still silent

6 days now - no internet or landline. Apparently the fault is at the top of the telegraph pole that's at the edge of our front garden. Numerous calls to Plusnet and a very nice man called Martin who came to fix it today couldn't mend it because a 'blue ladder' or a cherry picker was needed. We've been told someone else will be out tomorrow...
