Saving Lives

A weekend on call, not too busy but I've just been out to see a dog who swallowed this massive lump of raw-hide chew. It got stuck in his throat and was choking him so I had to pull it out with some foreceps. Exciting stuff! It's the sort of thing that, if he'd managed to swallow it, we'd have been having to cut it out of his guts tomorrow.
