Sir Henry Parkes

Apparently Parkes used to be called Bushman's Lead after a mine close by.  Sir Henry made a visit to the town, and so impressed the worthy burghers, they decided to rename their town after him. 

They have now built up a lovely little tourism industry around Sir Henry, and it's a really interesting place to visit.
