Hands on Learning

Today Annie and I were both at Bicester Heritage for day one of a two day course on basic classic car maintenance. It was hands on learning from the start, beginning with jacking the car safely and removing and replacing spark plugs, we then ran through removal and refitting points, disassembly of a carburettor, replacing filters, some basic auto electrics and making up your own fuel and brake pipes. There was so much to learn but we seem to have absorbed a good amount of it. We've also got a better understanding of the use of some tools and a list of tools we ought to add to the toolbox. The course continues tomorrow.

Most of the Bicester Heritage site, a formal RAF base, has been restored now and been put to use in some aspect of automotive repairs, preparation or sales. A few building remain in an untouched state and the blip is one of them!
