High Tide Flight

Lovely walk along the sea-wall from Heybridge Basin towards Maldon and back. The tide was very high. Nice to see dinghies racing, lots of waders in the air and sailing barge Kitty coming into The Hythe. I think the birds in my shot might be black-tailed godwits. Their scientific name is Limosa which means muddy. No exposed mud for them to probe at this at this state of the tide. The usual perches of the pair of oystercatchers that I always see were underwater. I photographed them on a mooring buoy. Ollie dog loved running free all afternoon and meeting lots of dogs and their owners.
